Aftercare for Brow & Lip PMU

We’re so excited for you and your new brows and lips 🤍

This is such a special investment in yourself, and a little extra care over the next couple of weeks will make all the difference in how your results heal and how long they last.

Although your brows and lips may appear more defined and bold immediately after your appointment, this is completely normal. During the healing process, colour will soften and fade approximately 20–40%, settling into a natural, beautifully healed result.

Following proper aftercare is essential. If instructions are not followed, additional pigment loss may occur and can affect your final healed outcome. Don’t worry though these steps are simple, and we’re here to guide you every step of the way.

Your Healing Journey

Healing is a process, and each stage is part of the magic:

  • Days 1–3: Colour appears darker and more intense
  • Days 4–7: Dryness, light flaking, or peeling may occur
  • Days 7–14: Colour softens and settles into the skin
  • Weeks 4–6: Final healed results are visible
  • If your brows or lips change day to day, this is completely normal. Please trust the process and what you see now is not your final result.

Brow Aftercare

WASH — Days 1–10

Starting the evening of your procedure, and continuing for 10 days, cleanse your brows twice daily (AM & PM).

  • Cleanse gently with antibacterial hand soap and water for 5 seconds
  • Cleanse outside of the shower (DO NOT WASH INSIDE SHOWER)
  • Rinse and pat dry gently
  • Do not scrub, rub, or use a washcloth
  • Keeping your brows clean is one of the most important steps for proper healing.

OINTMENT — Days 4–10

Once brows are completely dry:

  • Apply a very small amount of aftercare ointment
  • Use half the size of a grain of rice per brow
  • Apply lightly — more is NOT better

Your brows should feel protected, not greasy. Over-application can slow healing and affect pigment retention.

Please Avoid (Brows)

To achieve the best healed results possible, please follow the instructions below:

Avoid all direct water contact with brows (besides cleansing) until flaking has fully stopped

  • Do not sleep on your eyebrows
  • No picking, pulling, scratching, or rubbing the treated area
  • No makeup, skincare, oils, or lotions on the brow area until healed
  • Refrain from intense cardio or heavy sweating for 1–2 weeks
  • No swimming, hot tubs, steam rooms, or saunas for 2 weeks
  • Avoid direct sun exposure for 2 weeks (wear a hat outdoors)

Tip: Keep the area clean, dry, and completely free from oil-based products.


Lip Blush Aftercare

Your lips may feel swollen, dry, or tight after your appointment, this is completely normal and temporary.

First 48 Hours

  • Apply the provided lip balm 3 x daily (maximum) to keep lips hydrated
  • Keep lips clean at all times
  • Drink through a straw when possible
  • Gently blot, don’t rub

Days 1–10

  • Do not pick or peel flaking skin
  • Avoid lipstick, lip gloss, or lip liner until fully healed
  • Avoid spicy, salty, acidic, or very hot foods
  • No kissing, oral contact, or sharing drinks
  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning

If you are prone to cold sores, antiviral medication should be taken as advised by your doctor.

Please Avoid (Lips)

  • Picking or peeling healing skin
  • Excessive moisture or dryness — keep lips comfortably hydrated
  • Heat, sun, and sweating during healing
  • Makeup or skincare products on the lip area until healed

Touch-Ups & Long-Term Results

Perfect healed results are achieved in two sessions. A touch-up is recommended 6–10 weeks after your initial appointment to perfect colour and shape.

Long-term results depend on:

  • Skin type
  • Lifestyle
  • Sun exposure
  • How closely aftercare is followed

Permanent makeup will gradually fade over time, with maintenance recommended every 1–3 years.
